The Wood Finishing Sander will be responsible for preparing wood components for Finishing by completing the following:
- Operate different sanders and various hand tools to smooth wood surfaces and edges.
- Prepare parts by filling and repairing imperfections in the wood.
- Mask off parts in preparation for finishing.
- Apply stains, sealants, and other finishes to wood surfaces.
- Inspect finished surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Strip finish and prepare for re-finishing.
- Clean and maintain sanding equipment and hand tools.
- Read and understand shop drawings and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
THE SKILLSET:
- Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a wood manufacturing environment.
- Proficient using hand tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to lift, carry, push and or pull objects weighing up to 50lbs.
- A positive attitude toward teamwork and strong relational skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- High level of attendance.
- Excellent work ethic.
- Self-directed.
- Day Shift – 7:30a.m. to 4:00p.m.
