Visual Elements is a value-added manufacturer of custom retail fixtures, components and visual merchandising products based in Toronto. From full retail environments to a store fixture to retail shelving to a simple visual display, our custom fixtures become part of the retail environments of some of the most prestigious retailers worldwide.
The Wood Finisher duties will include:
- Repairing broken parts, removing imperfections, and filling in cracks.
- Removing old finishings and excess solvents.
- Sanding and smoothing the item in preparation for finishing.
- Applying primer, sealer, stains, and topcoats. Urethane and lacquer.
- Inspecting product to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintaining all finishing equipment.
THE SKILLSET:
- 2 years’ experience in a woodworking shop, preferably in a store fixture environment.
- Relevant post-secondary training program or Apprenticeship.
- Wood working experience an asset.
- Experience with spray guns, colour blending, colour matching an asset.
- Ability to visualize projects.
- Able to follow written instructions and ability to read detailed shop drawings.
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Able to work within tight deadlines without sacrificing workmanship.
- A positive attitude toward teamwork and strong relational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Resourceful and a problem solver.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Day Shift – 7:00a.m. to 3:30p.m.
